A new bakery, San Marcos Bakery, is set to open in East Memphis at 4600 Quince Rd. Although owners Cesario and Yazmin Mejia have chosen to remain tight-lipped about their latest venture, it seems that the bakery is a natural extension of San Marcos Restaurant, the Mejias’ eatery and nightclub located on Getwell Rd.

According to the restaurant’s Facebook page, Yazmin has recently delved into the art of baking, taking lessons and passionately experimenting with various dessert creations that she has successfully introduced to the San Marcos Restaurant market. The page showcases several photos of decadent cakes adorned with layers of icing, candy, and fruit. It’s safe to assume that patrons of the forthcoming bakery can expect desserts similar to those displayed on Facebook, likely influenced by the rich flavors of Mexico.

Stay tuned for updates on San Marcos Bakery as more details, including the opening date, unfold.
