This is the newest location from Nufish, LLC, one of the country’s largest Captain D’s franchisees. The group, led by Joe Springer, received approval from the planning committee in June and is now getting ready to start construction on the new site in January 2024, according to Construction Journal. The new 1,900 square-foot Captain D’s in Arlington will have a drive-thru near a Waffle House. The group is also working on opening a new location in Oakland at 6700 US-64 early next year.

The Nashville-based company has over 500 locations in 22 states. Nufish, LLC has opened several Captain D’s in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee, most recently opening a new location in Olive Branch at 6111 E. Goodman Road. While this was the 29th location in the state, it was the franchise’s third location in the state and 18th Captain D’s overall. Ike Seelbinder, the original principal owner of Nufish, LLC, had mentioned plans to expand to Arlington in 2019 but didn’t have any additional details.

“Captain D’s position as the leader of its category paired with its strong unit economics have solidified it as one of the most viable franchise opportunities available, and our continued growth and success with the brand is a testament to that,” Seelbinder said a few years ago in a press release. “Over the course of our decade-long history with Captain D’s, we’ve experienced firsthand all the benefits there are to being a franchisee, including access to its best-in-class operations team, unparalleled training, and support, as well as industry-leading product and equipment innovations.
