According to The Commercial Appeal, Golden Corral is actively seeking local franchisees and offering incentive programs to attract potential candidates.
Headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, Golden Corral operates nearly 400 restaurants across the United States and Puerto Rico, including eight locations in Tennessee. The closest current location to Memphis is in Horn Lake, Mississippi.
Golden Corral is celebrated for its extensive breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus, featuring homestyle favorites such as buttermilk pancakes, fried fish, pot roast, and signature sirloin steaks. Additionally, patrons can enjoy a salad bar and a dessert buffet at the eatery.
While no sites have been chosen yet, Golden Corral Chief Development Officer David Conklin told The Commercial Appeal that they are considering one or two locations in Memphis itself, as well as in nearby suburbs like Bartlett and Collierville.
Conklin expressed enthusiasm about expanding into Memphis, citing the city’s vibrant culture and community spirit as key factors:
“[Memphis] has a lot of attributes that we find are a really good fit,” he said. “The overall sense of community that Memphis has, just from all the events, the barbecue contests, the food festivals, that really bring the community together… We look at those things as being things that make Memphis unique and special, and we love the idea of being part of that community.”
