The couple plans to convert the 55,000-square-foot Life Church at 1800 N Germantown Parkway into Grand Super Market, according to Memphis Business Journal.
Fan told the publication that the high traffic at the Cordova Shopping Center drew the pair to the Cordova/Germantown area.
Monica Truong, formerly Monica Pham, is deeply connected to Memphis. As owners of several local establishments, the Pham family boasts longstanding ties with the community. Their notable ventures include Viet Hoa Market, Mochi & Mi, and an upscale Vietnamese restaurant that’s currently in the works at Crosstown Concourse.
Grand Super Market will include an international market and a food hall offering Szechuan, Vietnamese, and Thai cuisine, along with Chinese barbecue, roast pork, sushi, and more.
To bring the food hall to life, the couple is collaborating with experienced restaurateur He Chen, who owns about 30 establishments in the area, including Grand Pacific Buffet.
Fan estimates that completing the facility will take up to two years. Once complete, the market will employ 50 people, and the entire project is expected to create around 200 jobs from start to finish.
