In a recent Facebook update, JJ’s Tropical Mexican Bar and Grill owner Jose “JJ” Miranda announced plans to open a third Memphis area restaurant in Jonesboro. While a specific site has not yet been selected, Miranda confirmed the news with What Now Memphis.
Miranda and his wife Sarah opened the original Cordova restaurant in 2022, quickly garnering a strong following both online and in-person. This success led to the addition of a second site in East Memphis late last year.
The Jonesboro eatery will likely offer the same tropical menu that JJ’s has become known for, including a variety of meat- and seafood-centric quesadillas, fajitas, tacos, nachos, and build-your-own options. Additionally, patrons can indulge in an extensive selection of beers, margaritas, and creative cocktails.
In the meantime, JJ’s is partnering with local establishments MidSouth Slingshots and Locs R Us to host a back-to-school drive in support of the community. School supply donations can be dropped off at JJ’s Cordova location until Sunday, July 28, 2024.
Keep an eye out for further updates as JJ’s Tropical heads to Jonesboro.
