A new restaurant is coming to Olive Branch, and it looks like it’s been in the works for some time now.
Nestled in a shopping strip at 6542 Goodman Rd Suite 117 in the former site of Wolf River Brisket Co., Mama Rosa Mexican Food initially announced its anticipated opening in the fall of 2023. However, the eatery’s website now states that it will debut this month, in May 2024.
Promising an authentic culinary experience crafted from fresh ingredients and traditional recipes, Mama Rosa aims to transport diners to the heart of Mexico with every dish. While specific menu details are yet to be unveiled, a recent social media sneak peek suggests that patrons can expect modern Mexican fare in a fun, contemporary setting.
Restaurateur Luis Alejandro Hernandez is the driving force behind this venture. Hernandez’s culinary expertise is well-established, with a string of successful eateries scattered throughout Tennessee, California, Nevada, South Carolina, and Texas.
Hernandez confirmed this development with What Now Memphis and said he would share more details soon. In the meantime, subscribe to Mama Rosa’s newsletter and follow the eatery on Facebook and Instagram.
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that Abraham Valenzuela owns Mama Rosa Mexican Food. In fact, Luis Alejandro Hernandez is the owner. This article has been revised to reflect that information, along with updated details about the restaurant.
