Although specific locations and franchisees have not yet been chosen, Smalls Sliders Chief Development Officer Don Crocker told Memphis Business Journal that the Memphis market is appealing due to its existing footprint, available real estate, and consumer profile.
Crocker explained that Smalls Sliders is seeking franchisees with a background in the restaurant industry or related fields, bringing a dynamic range of business experiences. The company prefers locations in busy shopping centers alongside other QSR or major retail brands to ensure consistent foot traffic.
Backed by former NFL quarterback Drew Brees, Smalls Sliders offers a menu of fresh cheeseburger sliders, waffle fries, and milkshakes.
The Baton Rouge-based franchise currently operates 16 locations, with hundreds more in development. Each restaurant features a unique “Can” prototype made from orange prefabricated shipping containers. These containers are transported and installed by crane, creating a compact, 750-square-foot space, each with a high-end kitchen design.
“Since reopening franchising just over a year ago, we have concentrated on building a strong presence in the Southeast,” said Crocker. “…We’ve established a great franchise network and rapidly sold out our initial phase of development in six states: Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Missouri.”
What Now Memphis has reached out to Crocker for further details on franchising and will provide updates as they become available. Those interested in becoming a franchisee can apply using this application.
