Last November marked a milestone for KyDavia Hassell as she opened the doors to her inaugural brick-and-mortar dessert haven in Cordova. Now, she’s packing up her piping bags and heading to Downtown Memphis.
Gimme Sugar Bakery is relocating to South Main St, with a grand reopening slated for July 2024. Hassell explained in her various announcement posts that the Cordova closure was due to circumstances beyond her control.
Not to worry; the forthcoming space is more than double the size of its predecessor, granting Hassell the canvas to unleash her creativity to the fullest. Expect expanded baking classes and a wider array of desserts at the new locale.
Gimme Sugar has garnered attention for its extravagant confections, captivating audiences on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Think towering cakes adorned with intricate designs, cupcakes that defy convention with their Biscoff cookie toppings, and decadent strawberry blondies—all crafted with delicious precison.
Once operational, the new Gimme Sugar location will welcome guests five days a week. For those eager to support Hassell and her confectionery dream, contributions to the new establishment are warmly welcomed; as Hassell says, “…no amount is too small or big.”
