TacosNGanas, the Memphis-based food truck, is planning on opening a new permanent food truck location in Colonial Acres, located at 1500 S. Perkins Rd.
The company’s sixth location is hoping to move into the northern parking lot of the former home of Colonial Cumberland Presbyterian Church, according to the Daily Memphian. Owner Greg Diaz recently submitted an application with the Memphis and Shelby County Board of Adjustment for a permanent food truck site with seating at the southeast corner of Quince and South Perkins. TacosNGanas has trucks in Cordova, Midtown, and Memphis.
The self-proclaimed best tacos in Memphis offer plenty of meat options for its tacos, including asada, barbacoa, Camarones, carnitas, chicken, and more. On top of the tacos, TacosNGanas also offers burritos, tortas, and quesadillas, all available with the meat of your choice. To accompany each taco, the restaurant also serves consomé, a traditional Mexican beef broth prepared daily with the drippings of barbacoa meat and topped with fresh cilantro and onion. The consomé at TacoNGanas has been dubbed the “taco dipping sauce.”
If Diaz is approved, this will be an excellent location for the permanent food truck. The Quince/ Perkins Shopping Center and Colonial Plaza Shopping Mall are both only a few steps away, with plenty of foot traffic coming to that area. Competition-wise, TacosNGanas will only have to fight for customers against a Mcdonald’s on the other side of the intersection. The food truck will likely see great success in this location, considering there is a limited amount of eating options nearby.
