Moqana—which has been in development for over a year—is planning to debut at 1105 N Houston Levee Rd, Suite 101 in the Woodland Hills neighborhood.

The café will occupy the southernmost endcap of a building that currently houses Mr. J’s Buffalo Wings, La Fogata Mexican Restaurant, and the soon-to-open Yemen Gate Grill. The building’s drive-thru was initially built for a bank, according to city permits.

The 2,400-square-foot space has undergone renovations totaling roughly $75,000, including upgrades to the decor and counters.

While specifics about the menu are still under wraps, permits reveal that Moqana will serve a selection of organic Yemeni coffee. In addition to the drive-thru, Moqana will feature a cozy sit-in area where patrons can enjoy their beverages onsite.

Coffee shop owner Baleeg Mohamed confirmed this news with What Now Memphis, expressing excitement about the launch. He couldn’t provide details at the time but promised to follow up with more information in the coming days.

Stay tuned for updates on Moqana, as details about the menu and opening day are expected by next Tuesday.
