Owner David Acklin expressed deep sadness over selling the Berclair/Nutbush snow cone and burger shop. Persistent maintenance issues, combined with the area’s rising crime rates, ultimately forced his decision.

“I didn’t want to leave,” he told The Daily Memphian. “That building is beautiful to me, the best in Memphis. I’ve had it for 20 years. I ran with it for as long as I could. I’ve fought and done everything I could to stay there.”

But this isn’t goodbye for the Memphis snow cone staple. Jerry’s Sno Cones’ Cordova location at 1601 Bonnie Lane will remain operational. Additionally, Acklin is looking at other areas to set up shop. He plans to comprise a list of five to six potential new Memphis area locations, which locals will be able to vote on—in person or online.

Keep an eye out for updates as Jerry’s Sno Cones announces possible future locations and invites customers to participate in selecting the next spot for their beloved snow cone stand.
